Frequently Asked Questions About Cardcaptor Sakura

There are a few little details some people don't know about CCS. So, this little page was set up to help them out =). Note that this page will contain major spoilers so don't continue reading if you don't want to get spoiled. E-mail us if you have any questions you'd like answered! Or, if any of the FAQ contain errors.

  1. There are twelve manga volumes and seventy anime episodes, plus two movies.
  2. Syaoran and Sakura are a couple. Syaoran tells Sakura he loves her in episode 69 and Sakura tells Syaoran in the second movie.
  3. Eriol is not "evil". His actions seem malevolent, but he is only trying to help strengthen Sakura, in his own way.
  4. Eriol and Fujitaka are both incarnations of Clow Read, split in half, in the manga. In the anime, it is only Eriol.
  5. There is only one Card Captor and that is Sakura.
  6. Eriol and Kaho are a canon couple. Live with it.
  7. Eriol, through magic, looks younger than he actually is. He is about the same age as Fujitaka, not Sakura.
  8. All of the names in the American dub aren't the same as the original CCS version.
  9. Eriol and Tomoyo are not a couple and never will be.
  10. Ruby Moon and Spinel Sun's sole purpose was to fight Yue and Cerberus during Eriol's final battle with Sakura.
  11. Nakuru/Ruby Moon has no gender.
  12. Yukito isn't really human.
  13. Touya and Yukito are a couple.
  14. Meiling and Syaoran are cousins and engaged but it wasn't a forced marriage. It was merely a promise made when they were little.
  15. CCS is created by a group of four girls called CLAMP.
  16. Sonomi and Nadeshiko are cousins, making Sakura and Tomoyo second-cousins.
  17. Sonomi loved Nadeshiko and hated Fujitaka because he "took" her away from her. She blames him for Nadeshiko's death.
  18. The only person that kept in contact with the Amamiyas was Nadeshiko.
  19. Nadeshiko died when Sakura was three.
  20. Touya has some powers and with that can see spirits. He loses it when he gives it to Yukito/Yue to help him.
  21. In the manga, after Eriol splits his power with Fujitaka, Fujitaka can now see Nadeshiko.
  22. Tomoyo loves Sakura but Sakura may not know.
  23. Takashi always tells lies and only Chiharu can stop him.
  24. In both the manga and anime, Rika loves Yoshiyuki. In the manga, he returns her feelings, but in the anime, it's more one-sided.
  25. Eriol and Takashi become fast friends because they both tell/help each other with their stories (lies).
  26. Sakura and Syaoran are easily fooled by Takashi (and later Eriol)'s lies.
  27. Naoko loves ghost stories while Sakura is scared stiff at the thought of them.
  28. Eriol doesn't love Sakura in a romantic way, but more in a fatherly manner.
  29. In the anime, there are fifty-three Clow Cards. All of them later become Sakura Cards.
  30. Spinel Sun gets "drunk" when given sugar.
  31. Nakuru wears female clothing because she (more appropriately "it") thinks they're cute.
  32. Sakura had a crush on Yukito for a long time and told him so in episode sixty-six. He turned her down gently and told her she loved him like she loved her father.
  33. S + S is the short form for the coupling Syaoran and Sakura.
  34. Syaoran is not a descendant of Clow Read. Clow has no descendants. Rather, Syaoran is a distant relative to the magician, through Clow's mother, since the latter's mother was a Li.
  35. In the manga, Yoshiyuki actually proposes to Rika and says they'll marry when she's old enough.
  36. Syaoran has four older (and very out-going) sisters. Besides them, he has no other siblings. Poor guy… o_O
  37. Syaoran and Meiling live in the same apartment while they're residing in Tomoeda. Wei lives with them and takes care of them, as well.
  38. Touya and Kaho were once involved when Kaho was a substitute teacher at Touya's school.
  39. Nakuru doesn't love Touya, rather, she wants his power.
  40. Kaho is distantly related to Clow through Clow's father's side.
  41. Clow's parents were both magicians. His father was English and practiced Western Magic. His mother was Chinese and practiced Eastern Magic. Clow made his own magic by combining both East and West Magic. His 'new' magic is undoubtably more powerful.
  42. Eriol is not Clow Read. He only has Clow's powers and memories, but it doesn't make him actually Clow. As Eriol had once said, "something that was dead cannot live again".
