32/57. Li's Calling
Li walks into his room, remembering the final judgment. He begins practicing with his word and is angry with himself, thinking he let his family down. At school, the next day, Sakura greets Madison and Rita. When asked if she'd be going with them to the museum, Rita said she could not. When Eli joins them and expresses an interest with going with them to the Egyptian mummy exhibit, Madison notices Li watching nearby. Both Sakura and Eli see Li and she asks him if he'd like to go with them, showing him the form. Li looks a little mad but accepts, to Sakura's happiness. Sitting by the pond himself and sighing, Li overhears Sakura talking to Madison about how strange he'd been acting. Madison agrees and says he doesn't seem to like Eli very much, either. Sakura said they just needed to get a chance to know each other, that's why she invited him to the museum after school. Eli catches Li eavesdropping and the latter says he wasn't before running away. As Eli watches Li running off, he gets an idea.
As he's going, he runs into Yue, holding a bear. Yue says Li is important, too. He transforms back into Julian. Julian's confused and asks Li for something to eat. At Eli's house, Eli tells Spinner that everything is falling into place. Spinner mentions that Eli can use Sakura's friendship to his advantage. Eli thinks Li can be useful, too. When Li gets home, he checks his phone for messages. His mother had left him a message. He received a letter that suggested he return home and to call her. Sakura also left a message, telling him to bring money for lunch and that she's happy he and Eli were going. Kero said to say hi. Li smiles to himself and thinks he and Sakura made a good team, as he remembers some of their earlier captures.
However, during their excursion, Li is still suspicious of Eli and doesn't trust him at all. The quartet are taking a break, eating and chatting at a cafe. Li suddenly leaves and heads to the elevator when Eli gets his idea. Sakura runs after him as Madison and Eli follow behind. Sakura catches up to Li and both of them enter the elevator. Before Madison and Eli reach them, Eli uses his magic and the elevator goes out of whack. Li and Sakura back away from the door as it closes on its own. Madison, on the other side, says the door doesn't work and Eli leaves, telling her he'll go get help.
Li tries the elevator phone but neither that nor Sakura's cell phone work. Both stand, silent. Sakura has tears in her eyes. Li uses a charm to light a small fire but the light goes out. Eli is seen holding his staff and the elevator moves again. Sakura stands up at this point. The elevator is disappearing piece by piece and she falls back. Li gets up to help her but when he reaches for her, he misses and she falls. Li watches in disbelief and calls her name. There's a bright pink light and Sakura returns, sitting atop of the Float Card and tells him it's okay. Li suddenly hugs her. Eli puts his staff away and the elevator returns to normal. Madison is also happy they're okay as Eli rejoins them soon after. Sakura tells Madison she was able to change another card and Eli privately agrees.
After getting home, the phone rings and Li answers it. It's his mother, telling him she sensed a powerful force. She tells him that Sakura will need him and his powers by her side. She also tells him she's proud of him and to promise her he'd be careful. He agrees. After they finish their conversation, he opens his sliding door and looks outside. Ruby says she knew Yue convinced him to stay. Eli said to just let him take care of Li.
