47. The New Transfer Student
Kero is looking at the sun from Sakura's window. Far off, a figure lands on an archway. Sakura is writing a letter to Miss Mackenzie, who went back to teach in England. A panther-like creature with wings jump on a roof. Sakura and Kero take a break, eating watermelon. A girl with wings stands up. Then a figure with Clow's shadow stops in front of Sakura's house. Sakura is asking Kero to help her with her homework. The mysterious person smiles. The day starts off normally, with Sakura leaving early for morning duty. As she's wondering who's on duty with her, she runs into Julian. When she continues on, Julian gives her a candy and Sakura is happy that Julian is still the same.
At class, Sakura doesn't see anyone and starts to hum to herself. Li, who is cleaning the blackboard, clears his throat to get her attention. Madison is sad that summer vacation is over and the girls wonder who their teacher is. Mr. Terada is their teacher again and there's a new transfer student. His name is Eli Moon and he's from England. Sakura thinks he's nice. Eli's seat is next to Li's and behind Madison's. He pauses at Sakura's desk and says hi Sakura.
Later in the day, Sakura is writing a letter to Miss Mackenzie and mentions that she feels like she met Eli before. Eli pops up from behind Sakura and he says he feels the same. They sit together and talk and Eli thanks her for letting him sit with them at lunch. When they walk home, Sakura says Li has been in a bad mood. She goes to get them all ice cream. Tori takes hers and eats it. Julian joins them and it seems Tori is looking out for someone. Ruby, a new girl at Tori's school, jump-hugs him. She gives Julian a strange look but he only smiles. She jumps down and studies Sakura then jumps up and steals Tori's ice cream. Running off, she waves goodbye and thanks him.
Dark clouds suddenly appear and it rains hard. Kero's playing a video game and Sakura tells him about Eli. Kero loses his game and accidentally turns on the news. The drawer with the Clow book glows. Sakura takes out the book and the book glows again. The name of the book is now Sakura. They both sense something and at the same time, the weather-forecaster says the storm is only in Reedington while everywhere else is sunny.
Sakura, Kero, and Madison find themselves at Penguin Park when a whirlpool of wind and water strikes at them. Kero transforms and protects Madison while the water continues to chase Sakura. She tries to release her key but fails each time. Sakura's completely confused by it and Keroberos says there's a familiar feeling.
