17/43. Meilin's Story
Madison and Sakura are looking at photos in school when Meilin walks in, sad, and looking like she's going to cry. Sakura talks to her and it seems Meilin has to go back to her hometown. Li approaches them when he arrives and tells her they don't need her to catch Clow cards, stipulating that Meilin only gets in the way. She runs away, crying. Sakura rebukes him for his harsh words. To the class, Miss Mackenzie announces that Meilin would be leaving.
After school, Meilin is still mad at school and she goes without him. Sakura asks her to sleepover at her house because she really wants to get to know her better before she leaves and Meilin agrees to this. That night, they are in Sakura's room, having tea, oblivious that outside, two identical figures appear and a light flashes. Sakura and Meilin are in their respective beds talking. Meilin tells her about her training as a child and how she practiced with Li. Li had always been serious, even when little.
Then one stormy day, Wei and Li are walking when they come across a crying Meilin. She was crying because her bird flew away. Li walks up to her, gives her a handkerchief and tells her not to cry. He runs off, leaving Wei and Meilin to wait for him. It starts to rain and Meilin continues to watch. She hears someone coming back and runs out to meet Li. Li is completely soaked and a little dirty, but he holds the bird in his hands. Meilin hugs Li happily. She really likes Li, but has many doubts of herself and her abilities. Sakura argues that it's not as says and reminds her of how she fought Fight, and helped Sakura seal the Cloud card when the latter was sick. Just then, Sakura senses a Clow card.
Kero's flying in the sky, talking to Sakura through his phone. Madison and Sakura hurry to leave, however, Meilin hangs back. Where Kero is, he sees double of everything in the art gallery. Sakura ends up dragging a reluctant Meilin along. Somewhere else, Li is thrown back and Kero, who was with him, sees the Twin card and double of everything. Sakura and the rest arrive and the Twin attacks. Sakura traps them with Windy but when she tries to seal them, one escapes; they must be sealed together. The Twin laughs and chases Sakura. Li attacks with lightning while Sakura uses Thunder at the same time. It's still not enough against the card.
She gets an idea and calls Meilin. Since Meilin and Li trains as kids, they should work together. Li gets into a ready battle stance and Meilin does the same. The twins smirk at their attempt. Both Li and Meilin fight in unison, attacking Twin at the same time. This time, the card is worried, but not for long; they are both knocked out and Sakura seals them. Li apologizes to Meilin and she smiles. The next day, everyone is at the airport to see Meilin off. When she leaves, they all exchange farewells.
