37. The Show Must Go On

Sakura and her friends, Madison, Li, Meilin, Chelsea, Nikki, Rita, and Zachary, are all sitting under a sakura tree, having a picnic. They're taking turns singing and Sakura sings a simple tune. When it's Madison's turn, everyone admires her singing. Up in the tree, there's a strange orb occupying the space. At Sakura's home, Kero is helping Sakura blow dry her hair. He had wanted to go to the picnic. Sakura asks about his true form and Kero tells her that she will see it when she gets all the cards.

After school the next day, Sakura has cheerleading practice and Madison has choir practice for an upcoming competition. On her way to cheerleading practice, Sakura is approached by Miss Mackenzie, who says that Madison has to take proper care of her voice. At practice, Sakura, Chelsea, and Nikki are chatting, saying they want to see Madison. From the high school side, Julian calls Sakura. She joins him and Tori and her older brother makes fun of her. The two of guys go back to soccer practice. When Julian scores, Sakura gets overexcited and accidentally throws her pompoms too far. When she goes to retrieve them, she hears Madison singing. She suddenly senses a Clow Card and while looking for it, sees it fly into school. Madison suddenly stops singing. Sakura drops her pompoms and rushes into the school.

Madison can't speak or sing anymore for she has lost her voice. Her bodyguards come to pick her up from school. Later on, Sakura talks to Kero about this and he says it was probably voice. She blames herself and Kero says it isn't. He says the Voice Card liked Madison's voice so much that it took it. At night, sitting in her own bed, Madison looks at her music book sadly. Her mother, Samantha, runs in and asks if she's okay. Madison writes down that she's fine and Samantha says she isn't and holds her. Madison doesn't show up at school the next day and Sakura is really sad. Li checks up on Sakura and she tells him about the Voice. Li suggests they visit Madison.

When the duo visit Madison, she still can't talk. Samantha enters the room with snacks for them and after she leaves, they're still thinking of how to help. Li tries his lasin board but the card is nowhere near. Sakura starts to cry and gives Madison a hug. Li then suggests using the Song Card. Song sings in Madison's voice. The Voice is attracted and goes to look for the source. It goes into Madison's room only to find no one there.

Sakura goes after it while Li puts out incantation papers to trap it. Then she seals it and Madison's voice is returned to her. A while later, all of Madison's friends are attending the competition. The competition begins with Reedington Elementary's choir. Madison has a solo and sings before everyone. When she finishes, she gives Sakura a happy smile.
