13/35. The Third Element
Sakura has the same dream again of the radio tower and the Clow cards floating around her. Her eyes widen when the cards disappear and she tries to move closer toward the tower, to see the figure. She wakes up and sees Miss Mackenzie. Sakura had accidentally fallen asleep in math class. She sort of suspects that the figure is Miss Mackenzie, but isn't ready to talk to Kero about it yet. She wants to do it all on her own. Madison encourages her, saying she'll figure it out.
During gym class, Chelsea is asking who may is going to the winter carnival and is sad she'll miss it. Sakura, on the other hand, is worried what will happen when they capture all the Clow cards. Li performs well in gym, to Meilin's approval. She's happy that Li is captain of the drill team. Sakura goes to Meilin for advice. The latter contemplates it and her decision is to ask Li. Back at home, Sakura is edgy, not able to call. Kero pushes the button for her and she finally calls Li. She's about to ask him to the carnival so she can talk to him when she realizes Kero hit the wrong button and she ends up asking Julian to go.
Sakura and Julian go to the carnival together, and Madison and Kero are following behind. Neither of them notice a wreath going up in flames. Sakura is about to tell Julian when they run into Li and Meilin. They join them and Meilin is annoyed that Sakura accidentally called Julian. Now Meilin needs to set up Li and Sakura together so they can talk about the Clow cards. Before that, the four of them enjoy themselves on the different rides. All of them go for refreshments and see Tori, who has another job. In the background, Madison is still taping them when Kero suddenly senses something. So do Li and Sakura.
When objects around them suddenly start lighting up in flames, Sakura and Li run off, the latter using the Time card to get them a few undisturbed moments. Sakura releases Sleep and uses it on everyone in the park. Li puts Time away and everyone except the cardcaptors and Kero falls over, fast asleep. Li nearly falls, tired out after using Time, leaving Sakura to have to capture this card on her own. She releases Windy but it only makes the flames worst. Kero tells her that the card is Firey and that it being one of the four elements, it's very powerful.
Firey appears before them and Li suggests using the Water card. Firey shoots fire at them and Sakura runs to dodge them. She remembers everyone she's fighting for and moves to combine Windy and Water together. Both attack together and stop Firey. Sakura seals the card. Kero suddenly glows and tells Sakura that he was getting closer to his original power. Sakura is relieved that he's still with her. Li says he's still a stuffed animal and both Kero and Li continue fighting. Far away, Miss Mackenzie is watching them. Later, Madison laments that she missed another captire. Li and Meilin share a car on the ferris wheel and Meilin is angry that she got the card. Julian and Sakura share a different car and Sakura says she's no longer worried. They see sparkles outside. High above them, Kero is flying in the sky and the one that created the light and sparkles surrounding the park and city. Everyone gazes at the lights with awe.
