12/33. Ice Breaker
Outside the school, Li is poking at the ice on the road. Meilin stands shivering next to him. He's rather surprised at how cold it was as it's not usually this cold in his hometown. Sakura and Madison are leaving school when they notice the same patch of ice. Sakura tries skating on the ice with her rollerblades, but it's not the same and she falls. Madison reminds her about their class trip to the "Ice Pond Palace". The ice shines ominously as they leave. Sakura rollerblades home and finds Tori and Julian having tea. As usual, Tori can't resist making fun of his sister.
That night, Sakura has that same dream again by the radio tower. She has so many questions she wants to ask that figure in black. Sakura wakes up on the floor, realizing she knows that person. Kero wakes up as well and she tells him about that dream she just had. Kero wonders, with the full moon being present and all, if that person in her dream could be Yue. Sakura leaves for school and Kero is worried about her, remembering about Yue.
The entire school class is on a bus, going on their skating trip. Meilin is complaining about the cold; both Li and her are bundled up completely in their coats and scarves. At the skating rink, Madison is a natural on the ice and Sakura goes to join her after lacing up. She falls in moments, though. Li, also his first time on skates, keeps falling. At the same time, Miss mackenzie teaches Meilin how to skate. Their teacher later teaches Sakura how to skate, who starts to get the hang of it. Li falls once again and causes Meilin and Nikki to fall in the process. Taking a break, Sakura and Madison go to get some hot chocolate and see Meilin sitting next to the heater, trying to get more warmth. The former two girls go have lunch with their friends and all watch in awe as Miss Mackenze skates by herself. Li is annoyed by this and calls her a show off.
Sakura is getting better at skating and is starting to enjoy it. Mr. Terada helps Meilin up from next to the heater and tels hler skating might help her warm up. He then notices that it's much colder in the arena. He asks the workers to have the heat turned up, but they tell him the furnace must be busted. The temperature is slowly going down and everyone is getting really cold. All move to the heater for warmth. Meilin is sitting on the ice, to cold to move and doesn't know that the ice around her is starting to crack. Most students on the ice are leaving the because it's so cold. Suddenly, Meilin is completely incased in ice. After her, everyone is frozen solid, one by one. Sakura and Li know that it's a Clow card behind all this. They're wondering why they hadn't frozen with everyone else. Unbeknownst to them, Miss Mackenzie is hidden, watching what they do.
The card surrounds them with ice and moves in to attack them. They both skate out of the way and Sakura is almost knocked out when it strikes her the first time. The second time it hits her, the card starts to freeze her as Li tries to crack the ice by punching it. The Freeze continues to watch him from below the surface or behind the wall of ice. Li is shocked by its size. He tries to shake Sakura awake and when she regains consciousness, he tells her he noticed that it appears below the surface before it attacks. He skates off to distract it and it attacks him. Sakura manages to seal the card and Li is the one to receive it. The ice disappears and the termperature shoots back up to where it was. Everyone is unfrozen and it's like no time ever passed. Meilin gets up from where she was sitting and finds it to be way too hot now as Sakura helps Miss Mackenzie pass out hot chocolate to everyone. The former is happy, being able to skate now and even wants to take lessons, to Li's chagrin.
