19. Nothing to Report
It is the end of August and Sakura is working on her summer journal. It seems students have homework to do during the summer break. Sakura has a lot of homework to do still, because she always waits to do them at the end of the summer. Kero offers to do her math homework if she'll get him some pastries. While Sakura's makes a birdhouse, the "house" falls apart and Tori offers to help his sister, for five dinner duties. Julian helps as well.
Later, Madison calls Sakura up and they agree to go to the library to finish their work. While at the library, Sakura and Madison look for a booth to work in. When the girls finally find one, they run into Li, who has also spotted the same empty booth. Li leaves in a huff and let's them have the booth. After some time, they finish their work, and Madison helps Sakura look for a book she could use for her book report. Sakura finds a book she wants to use, but then they learn that all copies, except for one, were checked out and start searching the library for the last copy.
Kero, cranky that he can't get any pastries, sees Li and decides to go bug him. Li puts the book he was reading (the same book Sakura was looking for) down on the table while he talks to Kero. When Kero leaves, he looks back at the table and finds out it disappeared. Madison sees the same book on a high shelf and, using a stool to reach it, she looks back and it's gone. Kero finds Sakura and tells her Li had the book she was looking for and Sakura goes to look for Li. The three Card Captors are running around the library chasing the book; finding it and then seeing it disappear. By then, they've realized it was a Clow Card.
Later on, Li spots the book on a bike outside the library. He runs out of the building and chases the book. Nearly reaching it, the book disappears again. Sakura and Madison catch up to Li and Kero tells them it's the Move Card. They see it again and chase after it, the book still disappearing before they can catch it. Kero tells Sakura not to use her sight, so Sakura closes her eyes and concentrates for a few moments. Suddenly, she sees the card in her mind and leaps toward it, sealing the card. The card lands in one hand while the book lands in the other. Sakura then realizes she is standing on the edge of the water and she falls forward. Li reaches for her and grabs hold of her arm, trying to break Sakura's fall. She falls anyway - and so does he - and they land in a heap in the water.
As they leave, Sakura sneezes and Li offers to give her a change of clothes from home. Then he says he'll let her have the book right after he's done because he had only one chapter left to read. Sakura and Madison agree and follow Li to his apartment. Sakura has a fresh set of clothes on and Wei, Li's guardian, serves a drink to her and Madison. Li enters the room to give Sakura the book when he sees the shirt Sakura's wearing, which Wei had said was okay for her to wear. He starts sputtering, saying Meilin had given it to him. Suddenly, the front door bursts open and there stands Meilin.
