5/17. The Cave
Sitting in Sakura's room, Kero begins to complain loudly about being left behind. While studying in the next room, Tori and Julian hear a loud thud and both suspect they've been studying too hard. Sakura's class is at the beach for summer break and while Sakura's swimming, she sees a dark cave and Li standing before it. Before she could ponder about it, her friends call her to play volleyball with them. She swims back to the shore and they start a game. When the ball goes to the water, Sakura goes for it. Suddenly, Zachery pops up with the ball in his hands and tells her a story about the volleyball, which Sakura believes. Chelsea then exposes the fact that Zachary was making it up.
Mr. Terada calls everyone to help out and all the students work together to pull a net in from the water. The net is full with fish, which they cook for dinner. Later that night, they are in bed, chatting when Nikki starts talking about the cave they were to see the next day and ghosts. Sakura covers her ears, not wanting to hear the story. Suddenly, the door opens and the girls scream. It's Mr. Terada and he tells them to get some sleep. After a while, all the girls are asleep, save for Sakura. She can't stop thinking about the story Nikki was telling. She leaves the cabin and walks outside, wanting to tell Mr. Terada that she didn't want to go to the cave. Suddenly, someone taps her on the shoulder and Sakura turns around. It was Li.
Both Card Captors are sitting on the beach together. Sakura reveals she's really afraid of ghosts. Changing the subject, they talk about Li's home, family, and the Clow Cards. Li decides to go back and Sakura, not wanting to be left alone on the sandbank, quickly follows him. The next day, Sakura continues to dread going to the cave. Later that night, all the students are split into groups of twos or threes, each group holding one candle between them. Nikki is really excited about going in. Sakura, on the other hand, still is not and Madison has to drag her into the cave. While inside, Sakura tries to act brave but then both girls notice its a little too quiet in the cave and get scared.
Chelsea's scream is then heard and they run toward the sound, crossing the bridge toward the sound. Chelsea and Rita are standing there and Rita's crying. They learn Nikki has disappeared. Then all of a sudden, Rita and Chelsea vanish. Sakura grabs Madison and she leads her away from the shrine, but Madison disappears and the candle she held drops onto the bridge, setting it on fire. Li runs to her and Sakura tells him her group disappeared and Li says the same thing happened to him. Li continues to tell her that there are no ghosts. Closing her eyes, Sakura reaches out and senses something and Li takes out his lasin board, which directs him to the shrine. With the bridge gone, Sakura releases the Float Card and it carries the two Card Captors across the water.
Li starts to disappear and Sakura's even more afraid. Li yells at her, telling her to master her fear. Sakura closes her eyes again and senses something coming from the shrine. She opens it and a mist flies out. Sakura immediately seals it and they learn it's the Erase Card. Sakura gives it to Li but he won't take it, saying he doesn't need her help, and walks off. He returns seconds later, saying he needs her help crossing the water. It's the next day and no one remembers anything, but Madison suspects it was a Clow Card. Sakura and Li are talking about how their friends couldn't remember when they called Sakura to play. Zachery starts to tell another story but Sakura and Li zoom right by him, taking the ball and starting to play. Their friends watch and decide not to interrupt the game. Sakura and Li continue playing.
