1/8. Sakura's Rival
Sakura has a dream about some strange boy that has the Clow cards. Kero tries to wake her up and she accidentally whacks him aside. She tells him about her dream when Tori walks in, saying he heard people talking. She puts Kero on the table and Tori stares at the "stuffed animal". Sakura can't forget her dream at all and hurries to chase after Tori, who had already left. Julian joins them. When Sakura arrives in school, she learns there's a new exchange student named Li Showron and she immediately recognizes him from her dream. However, even though they've never met before, Li glares at her.
Mr. Terada assigns him to sit behind Sakura and he continues to glare at her, much to her worry. At recess, both Li and Sakura are alone and the former uses his lasin board, chanting something. A beam of light shoots out and points at Sakura and he demands for the Clow cards. Sakura refuses to give them to him and he tries to take them with force. Madison catches him in the act and so does Tori, who hops over the fence to defend his sister. Li challenges Tori as he shifts into a battle stance and Tori does the same. At that crucial moment, Julian rushes over to join them and has brought food to share with everyone. Rather frightened, Li runs away.
After school that day, Sakura and Madison are walking home when lightning strikes, clouds suddenly appear, and thunder rumbles. They run for cover under the penguin slide but there's not a drop of rain to be seen. Instead, lightning continues to strike for a few moments before they all disappear and it's sunny once more. Upon reaching home, Sakura awakens a sleeping Kero and tells him about Li. Kero tells her that Li was Clow's descendant and Sakura thinks she should have given him the cards in that case. The guardian beast disagrees.
Madison calls her up and tells her there's a Clow card at work and the three go to capture it. Sakura uses Fly to chase Thunder as Madison videotapes her. The Thunder card attacks her and she escapes by using Jump. She then finds she's not alone. Li has also joined her on the rooftop and releases a bolt of lightning that strikes Thunder. Its visible form surfaces and both jump down from one roof to another. Sakura wants to use Windy to capture it and Li immediately rejects the idea.
When Thunder approaches, he tells her to use Shadow as he uses lightning again to knock the Thunder card away. The Shadow wraps up Thunder and Sakura seals the card. Li calls her clueless and Kero rushes to defend Sakura. At seeing the guardian beast in his false form, Li couldn't believe that Keroberos has been reduced to a "stuffed animal" and Kero bites the boy's finger for his remark. Annoyed, Li turns off to leave and even ignores Madison's greeting. He leaves behind a very sad and worried cardcaptor.
